It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

Wow, it's hard to believe how in a blink of ones eye Christmas is almost here. It's time to have sugarplums dance in your head. And the sparkle of magic dust as it embraces everyone and makes us all spread goodwill and joy.

I have always loved this time of year, but I love it even more this year as my grand baby will be 11 months old this year. Just to see the excitement in her eyes as she tears open her gifts to reveal a whole new world of adventure. The smell of Cinnamon and shortbread cookies fill the house with warmth and love. The twinkle of Christmas lights as they twinkle in our eyes.

I thought I would share  with you a link my brother sent Savina from Santa.

From my house to yours I wish you peace, hope and love this Christmas Season.

The Joys of being a Mother & Grandmother

I know it has been months & months since I last posted! Time has a way of moving by to fast....I have had a lot of Joyful moments these past few months since I last posted......

First of all my sweet Granddaughter is just over  5 months and will be 6 months in about 3 weeks! WOW.....she has grown so much and is really starting to have a little personality. Her smiles will light up a room and your heart! She has started to taste food and she loves every little bit of it which is a good thing! I'm sure sitting up on her own is not so far in the future, everyday she discovers new things and we can see her reach Milestones...

Her mother just finished school for the year and has gotten 3 credits this year! Yes we are so proud! Not only has she had to look after a new baby and does a fantastic job at it, she has managed to juggle school as well and that makes us all so proud! At her Grad night she received the Angel on Earth Award and she truly fits that crown!

Then there is my son Ryan who just Graduated from Grade 8.....He was Valedictorian in his class and gave an awesome speech. The night was full of surprises he also received the "Character Award" which is given to students who are seen as a mentor and role model. Then there was the "Student Success Award" that award is given to students who qualify in the top 20 in your school board! Yes Ryan was one of those top 20, we are all so proud of what he has accomplished and look forward to his success in High School!

As you can see there is a lot to feel blessed with!

Babies & Bubbles

It seems like forever since I last wrote on my bog! To be honest with you things are starting to get back to normal on the Home Front....

The apple of her Nannies eye is now 9 weeks old! Can you believe it 9 weeks old? I can hardly believe it myself. The past 2 months our lives have been filled with the amazing sent of baby. There is nothing that smells better then Grandma's apple pie, then the smell of a baby after his or her bath. With Savina changing and growing everyday, life is such a great adventure for her! She is discovering new things everyday and we can hear the echo of cooing as she is excited to see familiar faces. She is now learning what it  is to smile at the people around her. I must admit time has just flown by, and we are looking forward to exploring every remarkable day with our Granddaughter. I feel very blessed and spoiled at the same time because we have our granddaughter living with us, so that means Nanny can get all the baby cuddles and hugs that she could possibly have and unlimited babies & bubbles. It's all about baby swings & bouncy chairs!

Angela is embracing motherhood and enjoying every minute of it....She has made us all proud!
On that note I will end my entry as I go and heat up a baby bottle:)

Going into week 3

Wow! Our darling graanddaughter is now 3 weeks old. That's hard to believe how time flies. Savina had another appointment yesterday with her mdwife and she has gained 2 ounces in 4 days. Which is what they want them to gain. It's been a bit like a yo-yo. She was down 1 pound and 4 days ago she hadn't gained or lost any weight in 10 days. So 2 ounces hopefully means that she is on  the gain. My daughter will be attending the breastfeeding guru Jack Newman Clinic. He is suppose to be the best when it comes to support. My daughter is really sticking it out and is really sticking with the rigid time schedule for feeding. Way to go!

Angie is feeling much better now and is ready to attack her schooling. She is doing independent learning and is home schooled right now so to say, she will just plug away at her own pace around Savina. We are all settling wonderfully with our newest addition and could not imagine it any other way.

My live our lives are filled with so much blessings!

Week One

It really is tough to get on to blog, with the addition to our family. With saying that yesterday marked Savina's first week. I'm really going to try and blog every week....

It has been a wonderful week watching my daughter transform into motherhood, she has done such a fantastic job and continues to amaze me every day. With Savina coming home just hours after being born it has been a learning experience for all. How things have changed in 15 years after I had my son. Angie has nailed down breastfeading like a regular pro. There is so much support for mothers who really want to breastfeed, a lot more then I had in my day in saying that, that is the reason why I threw in the breasts so to speak.......

I know I have talked about our midwife experience in the other entries but I can't say enough about them and the wonderful job they do. You could not ask for better treatment for you and your baby then to have a midwifes touch. Angie's midwife came in on day one and spent time with Angie & Savina, made sure she was ok and helped Angie to master breastfeeding , and again on day 3 and 5 and would have came out for a home visit daily if need be......On day 3 Savina had lost one pound in total but on day 5 she had gained 3 ounces back in 2 days, way to go Angie for perservering the breastfeeding road.......On to Savina's father Mike, he has steppd up to the plate and is an awesome father!

Everyday my heart is warmed having Savina in our lives.....My life is truly blessed <3

I'm a Nanny

Here I am posting a new blog just days after my daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby girl......Jan 26, 2010 at 5pm....The past few days have been a whirlwind! We went to the hospital at 2:00 am Monday Jan 25, 2010, and spent the next 18 hours as my daughter went through all the stages of labour. What a fantastic job she did so,well and made me so very proud.....She did it without the epideral!

What a heart warming experience to watch your daughter bring her daughter in the world! I'm so very proud of my daughter and grandaughter who I love very much.

Purpose for my tales

As I was sitting here trying to figure out a purpose for my blog, it was like the answer was right in front of my nose...So I asked myself why not write a blog about what it is like to be a mother of a teenage daughter who is going to be a mother. I have to say the last 7 months since we found out the news of our daughter soon to be approching motherhood, it has gone from shock to total delight now. I have to admit when we first found out the news we didn't know what to do, but the first thing that came to our mind shortly after was to support our daughter and guide her through this confusing time for her. I am happy to say that she has rose up to the occasion and has taken thing considerably well. She is still in school and is working on finishing her grade 12 so she can graduate. We are so very proud of her...There is so much community support for young mothers wich made things so much easier. I think it's very important for teenage moms to be around other young mothers so socially they aren't lacking out. She has had loads of help from the Rose of Sharon where she attends school  and the councellors are very supportive....We are a little less then 4 weeks away and are looking forward to opening our hearts to our granddaughter...
